A Year-End Review and Vision for 2024

The global Quizrr Team gathered in Stockholm to celebrate our 10-year anniversary.

When Quizrr was founded in 2013 the world was a very different place. The UN SDGs were still two years from being published, the Paris Agreement had not yet been adopted, and no one could ever imagine that a zoonotic virus would come along and forever change the way we live and work, and social distancing became a part of our collective vocabulary.

And speaking of distance, during Quizrr’s ten years in the business, we’ve seen less and less distance between us and human rights violations. It used to be something foreign, but now it’s literally on our doorstep.  

The people who sew our clothes, assemble our phone and harvest our coffee beans are emerging from anonymity. A new era of consumer enlightenment is unfolding, marked by a huge demand for ethical products and services. Post #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter, and #FridaysForFuture, the collective impact of social movements is evident. Climate is higher on the agenda than ever before, as we can see at COP28, arguably one of the year’s most highly publicized events (at least on our corner of the Internet).

A new era of consumer enlightenment is unfolding, marked by a huge demand for ethical products and services.

As a company that was very premature in developing impact tech tools in 2013, we now finally see the rest of the world catching up. So now it’s time to ask ourselves, what’s next?

Here’s what we are working towards for 2024:

  • The need for education has never been greater, not only for workers on the factory floor, but also within management, procurement and at the headquarters of companies around the world. Democratization of education is part of a new megatrend that is turning the world on its head. While the traditional image of a young worker in Bangladesh remains valid, the urgency for education now extends to seemingly unrelated professionals in the west, like taxi drivers, baristas and cleaners. This new consumer enlightenment has illuminated the true extent of a supply chain and turned low-risk zones into high risk.
  • Ethical employee onboarding, at scale is so important in order to reach everyone, even in the deepest nooks and crannies of the supply chain. Our new onboarding feature will be a game-changer to enable onboarding for all employees at brands with vast supply chains.   • The legislation we knew was coming is here. One could say HRDD and CSDDD are the new GDPR – confusing but crucial (not to mention mandatory). Get on top of the new legislations with Quizrr’s new HRDD training, a comprehensive educational series tailored for managers and decision-makers, based on the OECD Human Rights Due Diligence Guidance, launching in Q1 2024.
  • Migration will increase exponentially within the next few decades for many reasons, one of them being that people are moving for jobs. With migration comes exploitation and vulnerability. Migration can’t be limited, but it can be made safer by empowering people with the skills and knowledge they need.
