The EU Parliament has passed the CSDDD, applicable to companies with over 1000 employees and a net worldwide turnover of EUR 450 million. Excluding high-risk sectors as in previous versions, it sets the stage for mandatory human rights due diligence in the 27 EU Member States, promoting responsibility and accountability in global supply chains. This affects 5,400 EU companies directly. The CSDDD complements the product import ban on forced labor, serving as a pivotal tool in addressing root causes of corporate abuse, enhancing prevention, supplier engagement, and victim remediation.
