Quizrr x The Mekong Club

April 06, 2022

On April 6th, Quizrr and the Mekong Club invited peers to a discussion on how we step up the fight against forced labor through collaboration, innovation, and data.

During this live discussion between human rights pioneers, Matt Friedman, CEO and Founder of The Mekong Club and Sofie Nordstrom, Co-founder of Quizrr, will discuss burning issues in a constructive actionable way, looking at how companies and organizations in global supply chains work proactively to address the forced labor issue - in pre-competitive collaborations, with an innovative tech-based approach and with using instant data.

With this session, we hope to bring stakeholders together to fuel pre-competitive collaborations and present useful insights on tangible and concrete ways to support sourcing companies and their supply chain with tools and data-driven insights to eliminate forced labor risk.

The event's outcome is to provide attendees with an understanding of:

• What issues persists despite efforts being made, and what we can do to create real impact
• How real time data supports decisions and actions for sustainable impact
• Ways to empower multi-level stakeholders – brands, suppliers, workers, consumers
• How tech can enable to inspire role modelling, self-improvement, and empowerment
• A glimpse into the future of next generation due diligence tools

Background

The International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that 25 million people are in forced labor globally. Of them, 20.8 million people are working in the private economy, many of them women and children. The global pandemic has heavily increased the risk of modern slavery exposing already vulnerable groups, such as migrant workers to bonded labor, human trafficking, and debt bonded labor.
